During her 24 years in captivity, she gave birth to seven children. Elisabeth gave birth to all of them in the basement celler of her house where she was imprisoned. The lives of these children were made hell by the father of Elisabeth, who abused her. Out of seven children, three children were kept with Elisabeth in the underground cell. Whereas, three of them were fathered by Josef. The remaining one fell severely ill and died soon. The child died due to lack of medical attention. Josef, inhumanly disposed of the child’s body in an incinerator.

Early Life of Elisabeth Fritzl
She was born in a working class, conservative family. Elisabeth was the fourth in seven children of Josef Fritzl and Rosemarie Fritzl. The atmosphere of her home was always controlling and extremely strict with several rules and regulations that all the children had to follow. Notably, her father was emotionally abusive especially towards Elisabeth. She even often avoided eye contact with her father and as a result she developed symptoms of withdrawal. At the age of 26, she even ran away from her home due to her father’s disturbing behaviour behind closed doors. However, her family soon found her.
When she turned 18, her father imprisoned her for the next 24 years of her life.
Education
For basic schooling, she attending local schools. Much about het academic journey is unknown. When she was 15 years old, she got herself trained as a waitress and then worked at a nearby hotel.

The motive behind this move was extremely disturbing. Josef did this for his own sexual satisfaction. For the next 24 years of her life, he kept her enslaved and repeatedly raped her. He told no one, that Elisabeth was still living in the same house as theirs. Instead, Josef told everyone that she ran away.
